Born and raised on Long Island, Paul Brooke is a multi-disciplinary artist, photographer, and waterman whose work is a direct extension of a lifelong passion for the ocean.

His roots in the maritime community run deep; he grew up immersed in the industry alongside family who worked as commercial fishermen in Montauk, spending his formative years at the Ditch Plains lifeguard stand where his family and friends watched over the coast.

Now a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain and expert guide, Paul views the maritime lifestyle through a "renaissance" lens—operating not just as a navigator, but as a lifelong student of marine ecosystems, coastal weather patterns, and ocean dynamics. Paul’s artistic practice is inseparable from this immersion. As a Fine Art Photographer with over 13 years of professional experience, he is known for his exquisite use of natural light and authentic, rustic locations. His primary themes of travel, water, and surf have led to collaborations with global brands including Ferragamo, J.Crew, Surfline, YETI, Selina, Surfrider Foundation, Outerknown and Diageo, as well as campaign work with celebrated photographer Ben Watts.

Paul’s travels—initially inspired by a childhood fascination with National Geographic—have taken him across the globe to coastal environments in South Africa, Bali, Thailand, and Central America. These expeditions fuel his appreciation for the ocean’s diverse ecosystems and inform his multi-dimensional artwork. Whether he is translating his oceanic encounters into cyanotype marine prints, mixed-media nautical charts, or curated on-water experiences, Paul’s work is rounded by a culinary mastery of the Atlantic’s harvest and a deep craftsmanship in woodworking.

His work has been exhibited at Guild Hall East Hampton, Artweek Miami, North Fork Art Gallery, Soundview Greenport, The Surf Lodge Montauk and has been featured in Hamptons Magazine. By merging his technical expertise as a captain with a refined aesthetic for design, Paul serves as a multidimensional observer of the coast, dedicated to documenting the history and biodiversity of the coastal Atlantic.
